Fifteen straight answers covering judging, dates, fees, and how the whole process works.
The Online Teacher Awards is the world's first AI-powered awards programme dedicated to recognising excellence in online teaching. Each year, we honour outstanding educators across seven categories, celebrating innovation, inclusivity, student engagement, and measurable impact.
Any online teacher, from any country, subject, or platform, is eligible for nomination. You can nominate yourself, a colleague, or a friend who exemplifies excellence in online education.
Nominations are evaluated using a hybrid process:
AI-powered analysis scores each nomination against our published criteria (innovation, inclusivity, student impact, and more).
Human oversight is provided by our founder, Kizzi Nkwocha, who reviews and confirms the final list of honourees.
This combination keeps the process impartial, transparent, and credible.
AI provides fairness, consistency, and scalability. Every nomination is judged by the same criteria, without personal bias or favouritism — reflecting the same spirit as online education itself: using technology to widen opportunity and access.
Teaching is deeply human — which is exactly why AI doesn't replace human judgement, it supports it. AI ensures every nomination is evaluated objectively, while human oversight from our founder ensures context, empathy, and nuance are never lost.
Nominations are evaluated against seven published categories:
Innovative Course Design
Student Engagement & Interaction
Inclusivity & Accessibility
Use of Technology & Tools
Impact on Student Outcomes
Professional Development & Mentorship
Rising Star Recognition
An official certificate of achievement
An exclusive digital award badge
Global visibility through features in international publications and platforms
Media opportunities, including podcast interviews and digital magazine profiles
Honourees across all seven categories will be officially announced on June 1, 2027.
Nominations open September 15, 2026 and close May 1, 2027.

The fee allows us to maintain the independence, quality, and visibility of the awards. It covers administration, promotion, AI evaluation, and media outreach — ensuring nominees receive maximum recognition and value.
